FirstElement Fuel Inc. has ordered a compressor unit from Burckhardt Compression, which will be installed in its hydrogen facility in Northern California. Burckhardt Compression will provide a vertical, non-lubricated API 618 compressor with Persisto seal material and Redura piston and packing configuration to improve running time between maintenance intervals.

The device, including the motor and auxiliary equipment, will be installed on a single skid for easier and faster installation on site, and its design and configuration ensure that there is no oil pollution in the hydrogen stream. The equipment will be manufactured in Pune, India.

FirstElement Fuel is working with California, Honda, Toyota, Mitsui, and Air Liquide to develop a "True Zero Hydrogen Network." FirstElement Fuel's goal is to provide retail hydrogen for the next generation of fuel cell-powered cars through its True Zero brand.
