Jacksonville, Florida (Associated Press)-Jacksonville has continued this season and ended several losing streaks. This one still exists: The Jaguars (2 wins and 7 losses) have lost 13 consecutive games against NFC. This is a loss of more than three years, including losses to teams in each division in another conference.

The Jaguars defeated the NFC team in the 2018 season opener for the last time, beating the New York Giants 20-15.

They have a chance to end the landslide in Sunday's game against San Francisco (4-5), which will play a cross-country race in the early game after defeating the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

"When it comes to winning streaks, they will definitely be broken," Jaguar cornerback Shaquille Griffin. "This is the most important thing this season. You talked about our (20 games) losing streak and we broke it. There are many things that can be broken in this league.

"We don't think we want to beat consecutive top bases against NFC teams. We just need to win. This is the main point. No matter who it is, who we are playing against, we just need to win the game."

According to data from FanDuel Sportsbook, the 49ers are the favorite with 6 1/2 points in Jacksonville. The nine-man team achieved the most impressive victory of the season, defeating the Rams 31-10 on national television.

San Francisco ran 44 times, ran for 156 yards, and had a touchdown. Jimmy Gallopolo completed 15 of 18 passes, scoring 182 yards and two points. The defense forced two turnovers, including an interception to return to a touchdown. This was one of the most dominant performances of the week — and the most surprising — with eight games decided by 17 points or more.

Now, the 49ers hope to take it to all parts of the country with one day less recovery/preparation time.

"I think it started with (the leader)," Gallopolo said. "Whether it's drills or exercises, whatever it is, we have the right mindset. And I think it will permeate everyone else. You know, these short weeks have happened very quickly. We will get back to it right away. You just need to enter with the right mindset. I think this is where it started."

Jacksonville has played well in the past two weeks, losing one point in Indianapolis in the home game against Buffalo, and is building confidence every week.

Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence's progress has been hampered to some extent by passing errors and three-point errors. But the Jaguars have become more competitive, mainly because the defense has been preventing running and putting pressure on the quarterback.

"When things start to change, we all have to be prepared," Griffin said. "We will definitely move in the right direction."

The victory over NFC will be a huge improvement. The Jaguars last ended with a score of at least 0.500 in another match in 2008, and have lost 43 of 50 matches since then.

Last week, the 49ers introduced a new method of passing the ball to the receiver Dibo Samuel. He ranked a season-high six times in the backcourt, ran five times, ran for 36 yards, and had a touchdown. He also completed his daily work as a receiver, 5 catches for 97 yards and a TD, and ranked second in the NFL's catch yards. But the ability to line up as a running back adds another wrinkle to the offense.

"When you have people who are willing to have the ability to do this, but they also have enough physical strength to do it, it will only help you come up with a lot of things for the players to find the right position and make it easier for them," Niners coach Kyle Shanahan said.

Jaguars coach Urban Meyer faces former players in the NFL almost every week. This one will be a little different. Meyer began recruiting nine-man passer Nick Bosa as a sophomore in St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Like his brother Joey, Bosa eventually signed with Meyer at Ohio State University.

"I stood there looking at him and said,'This is over. It's done,'" Meyer recalled. "He was so good in his sophomore year."

After ranking 30th in the league last week with 33.3% turnovers for the third time, Niners performed well against the Rams. They converted 8 of the 14 attempts, and Garoppolo did most of the work. He completed 6 of 8 passes, completed 83 yards and a TD, and converted 7 of the team's 8 conversions for the third time and 1 sneak attack.

"Guys did some games," Shanahan said. "We have a few good-looking ones. When we are not good-looking, we can still convert them."
