ADNOC of Abu Dhabi announced on November 18 that it had awarded two engineering construction and procurement (EPC) contracts worth US$1.46 billion for the Dalma source gas project.

ADNOC stated that these contracts have been awarded to the National Petroleum Construction Corporation (NPCC) and a joint venture between Tecnicas Reunidas and Target Engineering, covering the development of natural gas conditioning facilities, upper wellheads, pipelines and umbilicals.

NPPC will build offshore wellhead towers, pipelines and umbilicals at the Hair Dalma, Satah and Bu Haseer oil fields under a contract valued at US$514 million, while the Tecnicas-Target joint venture will be on the US$950 million Arzanah Island.

The award of the contract marks the progress of Dalma, which is located in the Ghasha concession area, the world's largest sour natural gas development zone. The engineering work under the contract will be completed in 2025, enabling Dalma to produce 340 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

By the end of this decade, the total production of the Ghasha oil field will reach 1.5 billion cubic feet per day.
